The supernatural conflict between humans and ghouls is no different from what the prisoners of deadman wonderlandlive through in their dog eat dog world. Tokyo ghoul the mature shonen action series shares the same hostile atmosphere of deadman wonderland. What both tokyo ghoul and deadman wonderland mirror each other in the most is metamorphosis. Ganta like kaneki is an ordinary boy who has his fate turned inside out by an event the rest of the world does not see and both characters are forced to learn and grow in this new world in the hopes of staying alive. Throughout tokyo ghoul you watch kaneki turn from soft spoken bookworm to viscous murderer. Deadman wonderland throws you right into the action as we see ganta fighting for his life within the first few episodes. Highschool of the dead hits the ground running just like deadman wonderland does. Tokyo ghoul and deadman wonderland share many similarities the main character their abilities the bloodshed and more. This anime is horror shonen action and romance based. Additionally the cast from both shows arent easily characterized as black and white. Ganta finds himself in the midst of struggle as he is framed for a gruesome crime at school he didnt commit. A few high school students and the school nurse band together to fight their way from the roof and out of their high school.
